Bright, moderately saturated red. Musky reduction to the aromas of cherry, raspberry and mocha, along with a distinctly herbaceous menthol element and strong oakiness. Smooth, plush and broad, in a ripe, slightly warm style, with good sweetness and just enough acidity for balance. Showed a mounting herbal element with aeration, but dusty tannins will not get in the way of enjoying this wine early. Clearly a Merlot from a warm season, with evidence of quick but uneven ripening.
